Through works on paper, paintings and mixed media my work is about the complex and uneasy relationship that we have with food, the way it
evokes feelings of desire and repulsion and in the symbolic and the celebratory representation of food. My work can also be about memory, childhood and dreams. I use iconography culled from idealised, nostalgic versions of domestic harmony and childhood and also imagery associated with selling us food. The collages I create are sometimes a starting point for a painting, and I often use old photographs as a source of inspiration, capturing moments in time.
